History and Award Winning Golf at Ballinrobe
Ballinrobe Golf Club, founded in 1895, is one of Ireland’s most celebrated championship parkland courses. Located on the historic 300-acre Cloonacastle Estate, the course offers a unique combination of mature landscape, challenging design, and natural beauty.
We are proud to have been named Connacht Parkland Course of the Year on five occasions, most recently in 2025 , a reflection of our commitment to excellence and continuous development.
Our facilities are among the best in the region, featuring a 12-bay floodlit driving range, dedicated chipping and pitching areas, and a large practice green, making Ballinrobe an outstanding venue for both play and practice.
At the heart of the estate lies a 250-year-old house and restored farm buildings, now home to a modern, welcoming clubhouse that blends heritage with contemporary comfort.
In the words of Padraig Harrington:
“This must be the finest championship course in the West of Ireland. The par threes, in particular, are a delight. My favourite hole is the fifth, with a marvellous green inset into the River Robe. The tenth hole is a standout — an island green that demands absolute precision.”
