Hole 1

Relatively short par 4 to ease you into your round. Green is bunkered fron right to make a more challenging approach for those who take a short cut down the right side from the tee.

Hole 3

The par 3 third is a tricky hole that requires a mid to long iron. It plays index 9 for the men and index 15 for the ladies. The green is bunkered front left and a pond short right catches several sliced tee shots. The River Robe runs adjacent to the rear of the green and this is OB.

Hole 4

The par 5 fourth has OB running the entire left hand side of hole. Golfers wishing to shorten this hole by taking on the corner must ensure shots are hit well to clear the mature trees and OB.

The par 4 fifth is also a challenging driving hole with danger running the entire left hand side of the hole. The green is nestled in between large mature trees and once again, the River Robe is found running at the rear of it.

Hole 6

The par 5 6th is a challenging hole which has a lake that comes into play from the drive and your approach. Your approach shot should be aimed to the right side of the fairway away from the water.

Hole 7

The par 3 7th is surrounded on all side by dense growth such as trees and gorse. An accurate tee shot is of the utmost importance here.

Hole 8

The par 5 eight is a challenging hole which requires an accurate approach shot over a pond. Unless you get your ball in play off the tee, you will probably need to lay up short of the pond with your second and leave a long uphill appraoch to a well guarded green.

Hole 9

The 9th hole is a short par 4 which can offer up some respite to a challenging front nine. Once you get your ball in play, a short iron is all that is required to make the green.

Hole 13

This delightful hole is one of the signature holes in Ballinrobe.

This Par 3 features a lake short of the green that will punish “short” shots.

The green slopes from right to left which means that “up and downs” from any of the bunkers to the right of the green are quite rare.

A pot hole bunker short left of the green is not visible from the tee box.
